Open House London 2015 – Highlights

The annual festival of architecture and design Open House London 2015 is taking place on 19 & 20 September 2015. London Design agenda will show you all the programme highlights!

Open House London 2

A highly anticipated fixture in the capitalʼs cultural calendar, Open House London is a truly citywide celebration of the buildings, places and spaces where we live and work. It provides a unique opportunity to see, explore and learn about Londonʼs amazing architecture and design over one weekend.

With more than 700 buildings opening their doors this year, Open House Londonʼs selection will include beautifully designed residences, innovative infrastructure projects and prestigious civic buildings, alongside a programme of neighbourhood walks, engineering and landscape tours, cycle rides and expertsʼ talks – all for free

Highlights of the Open House programme include:

  • Revealing Londonʼs iconic skyline and towers including the BT Tower, 30 St Mary Axe (aka the Gherkin) and Citypoint
  • Londonʼs infrastructure revealed with the Institution of Civil Engineers – including engineering walks and site visits to major construction and engineering sites
  • Over 50 projects with Landscape at their heart with the Landscape Institute
  • Eco, zero carbon and retrofit buildings, with the chance to talk to experts, see measures in action and discover how you can implement changes in your own home
  • Speak with planners, architects and engineers on how they create successful buildings and cities
  • Maggieʼs and Open House London ʻCulture Crawlʼ on Friday 18th September – a moonlit walk through London with the opportunity to see Open House architecture and raise money for Maggieʼs Cancer Centres
  • Activities for kids and families, from architectural model-making to quiz trails as part of Open House Junior
  • Archibus tour with Arriva– win a place on an architectural whirlwind tour
