Sleep Event returns to the Business Design Centre for the 2017 edition with the provocative theme “Loyalty: Lessons in Love” shaping the direction of the two-day event on 21-22 November in London. The event is fast becoming a must attend for the world of hospitality, and the speakers panel this year is top notch! From the world of design to the world of press, check out the speakers you can’t miss at Sleep Event 2017.

 

 

TRISTAN AUER

SPEAKERS YOU SHOULD MEET AT SLEEP EVENT 2017Tristan Auer is a prevailing force in the interior design world: from his early days with Christian Liaigre and Philippe Starckto becoming his own Signature. Tristan is an entrepreneur and interior architect specializing in luxury hospitality brands, high-end private residences and bespoke furniture design. With more than 20 years experience working in luxury, Tristan has designed for names like Cartier, Chanel and Hermes, a number of hotel brands and celebrities. Notable projects include Rosewood Hotel de Crillon Paris and Carlton Hotel Cannes.

 

CHIU MAN WONG & MARIA WARNER WONG

Chiu Man Wong and Maria Warner Wong are the co-founders of Warner Wong Design and WOW Architects, together they have over 50 years of experience at international industry level. Combining a unique mix of Asian heritage with international design experience, Chiu Man leads projects from Business Advisory and Master Planning, to Architecture, Interior and Landscape Design. Maria leads the design and implementation of bespoke residences, health and wellness facilities and hotel and restaurant architecture and interior design.

Projects include the Singapore High Commissioner’s Residence in London, the Bishopsgate House, Sentosa Cove House and Chiltern House in Singapore.

 

ILSE CRAWFORD

SPEAKERS YOU SHOULD MEET AT SLEEP EVENT 2017Ilse Crawford is a designer, academic and creative director with a simple mission to put human needs and desires at the centre of all that she does. As founder of Studioilse, together with her multi-disciplinary, London-based team, she brings her philosophy to life. As founder of the department of Man and Wellbeing at the Design Academy Eindhoven, her mission extends to nurturing a new generation of students to always question why and how their work improves the reality of life.

HAMISH BROWN

SPEAKERS YOU SHOULD MEET AT SLEEP EVENT 2017A graduate of Interior Architecture, Hamish co-founded Hamish Benjamin, completing a large number of residential projects in prime central London. Hamish then joined 1508 London at its infancy. His ability to understand every facet of the design sphere means he is perfectly placed to help aid clients through their experience at 1508 London. His inherent understanding of the market means he is ideally placed as sales and marketing director to not only spear head 1508 London’s new business but to grow the company into a truly international brand.

 

SIMON RAWLINGS

SPEAKERS YOU SHOULD MEET AT SLEEP EVENT 2017As Creative Director of David Collins Studio, Simon Rawlings has overseen the realisation of some of the world’s most iconic hospitality, residential and retail spaces. In the course of nearly two decades at The Studio, he has collaborated with clients such as Harrods, Alexander McQueen and Mandarin Oriental, both in reinventing prominent buildings and establishing important new landmarks. Under his tenure, David Collins Studio has received more than thirty high-profile awards!

 

HENRIETTA THOMPSON

SPEAKERS YOU SHOULD MEET AT SLEEP EVENT 2017Henrietta is editor-at-large of Wallpaper* and writes about architecture, art and design for several publications worldwide. She is the author of five books and is interested in design that has meaning, rather than being purely decorative. She will take part on “The Post Cool Hotel” discussion, which will discuss what comes after cool in hotel design.
