The Top Unusual Bars in London

We know you all love the nice cafes and restaurants all around London, but we feel that it’s time to try something unusual for a change. Take a look at few unusual and totally worth it London bars. Some you can’t find, some are in the loo and some take you back in time. One thing they all have in common – you will not want to leave.

Paying homage to the Belle Epoque era of arts, expect the burgundy curtains and oversized lampshades. The feeling inside is exquisite and cocktails even better. Mondays are reserved for movie nights and Tuesdays offer open mic night.

Set in the heart of Chelsea, this exclusive prohibition-style bar has an originality that is visible in every corner. Titling itself as “London’s worst kept secret” you can be assured that your visit will be worth it…and there is a secret garden too!

“An intimate bar beneath the Aldwych in a space just big enough for cats (both feline and human)”. Descend the purple lit stairs to the old public toilets and you’ll find a trendy and quirky cocktail and cabaret lounge.

Recently refurbished Kensington gastropub Goat has a secret to uncover. It is the hidden bar upstairs. Member’s only, in this speakeasy area you can enjoy your cocktails in total privacy.  Don’t fret if you are not a member, if you phone in advance, you can book a table to enjoy for up to two hours. The unlabeled spirits are yet another mystery of this hidden bar (for obvious reasons, there is no picture of the secret bar).

Bar hidden on a cobbled East London side street is a world of childhood fantasies. If you are fed up with the world’s problems escape for a few hours to this fairy-tale world. You can also enjoy an ongoing art exhibition at the sanctuary of this upstairs bar.

THE MAYOR OF SCAREDY CAT TOWN

We think it’s kind of cool when you enter a bar through a Smeg fridge. Don’t you? Located under the Breakfast Club in Spitalfields you will find a quirky dimly-lit cocktail bar with exposed brickwork, some great music, and a wide selection of cocktails.

Located in Hoxton, this micro bar’s decor is inspired by Hollywood film In The Mood For Love and you can find it right beneath Viet Grill. Offering cocktails with Vietnamese twist and inspiration descend the red winding staircase and you find yourself in a speakeasy with an Eastern twist.

If you want the Great Gatsby vibe then for sure visit this retro 20s-themed cocktail bar. Originally a two storey barn dating to 16th century, the lavish interiors create a feeling of forgotten decadence that invites you in a dares you to have a good time.

If it’s drama you are looking for than this secret West London speakeasy with Prohibition-style décor is the place for you. Widely acclaimed cocktails and a sense of story will suck you in to the atmosphere of this charming place.
