The Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition 2014

“We exist to promote art and artists – a mission we pursue through exhibitions, education and debate.”

The Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition is an exciting and fresh exhibition of an work from a range of artists.
This annual exhibition has having helped many renowned artists on their first steps towards successful careers since its inception in 1769.

As indicated on their website:

We are an Academy. We have much in common with museums and other galleries, but we have a broader role – to promote not just the appreciation and understanding of art, but also its practice.

We are artist-led. Our artists represent many different perspectives, but we all share a deep commitment to art and a strong belief in the contribution that artists make to the world.

We are an independent charity. Unlike most of our peers we do not receive revenue funding from government and so we are reliant upon the support of visitors, donors, sponsors, and the loyal Friends of the Royal Academy to continue our work.

In the Royal Academy of Arts the Academician is elected in one of the following categories:
Painters (Wolfgang Tillmans, Barbara Rae, Bill Jacklin and Bob and Roberta Smith)
Engravers, Printmakers and Draughtsmen (Anne Desmet, Grayson Perry, Chris Orr and Eileen Cooper)
Sculptors (Rebecca Warren, Alison Wilding, Anish Kapoor and Ann Christopher)
Architects (Louisa Hutton, Eric Parry, David Chipperfield and Eva Jiricna)

The Royal Academy of Arts is from 9 June 2014 to 17 August 2014.
