London Fashion Week Trends

London Fashion Week is one of the world’s highest profile designer showcases. It takes place twice a year, in February and September. It is organised by the British Fashion Council (BFC). This year’s  spring/summer collections were showed from 18 till 22 of September.

Maison Valentna

Over 150 womenswear designers showcased SS16 collections at the Designer Showrooms in the new London Fashion Week venue at Brewer Street Car Park from 18-22 September 2015. The floor has been divided into product categories to help navigation and ease. Sub-sections include RTW, Emerging RTW, Shoes, Bags, Accessories and Multi-Label Showrooms.

London’s runway shows, which started the Friday after New York Fashion week, concluded Tuesday when the show moves to another European fashion capital, Milan and, later on, will be followed by Paris.

London Fashion Week lasted only for five days but soon after this great celebration of fashion has finished, started another one – London Fashion Weekend 24th – 27th September. This season, The Saatchi Gallery has played host to Britain’s biggest consumer fashion showcase.

Organised by the British Fashion Council, London Fashion Weekend is the perfect event for consumers to get a taste of the fashion industry and experience first-hand insider knowledge and style advice from London Fashion Week’s most famous British brands.

The four day event, which took place directly after London Fashion Week, included an Official Catwalk Schedule; Trend Shows hosted by TheOutnet.com; Designer Galleries of international and British brands; and a dynamic events programme with the aim of engaging, influencing and educating a new fashion conscious audience.

From left: Marques’Almeida, Mary Katrantzou, Erdem, JW Anderson. Another trend represents romantic fashion with different shades of pink, flower print and frills.

From left: Joseph, Christopher Kane, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, Pringle of Scotland. Not only dots rocked on this year’s London catwalks. Designers also loved other geometric prints and cuts. Especially, the ones that put shoulders centre-stage.

From left: Burberry Prorsum, Roksanda, Paul Smith, Barbara Casasola. Another trend for spring/summer 2016 fashion are silk dresses that were rocking through the show.
