If you were around, as ye olde Hot Dinners crew were, in London back in the 1990s you’ll definitely remember Pharmacy. It was an ultra concept (or conceit) restaurant which was opened in Notting Hill by Damien Hirst and Matthew Freud among others. Today we bring you a great idea if you are searching for a innovative space: Pharmacy2.
Pharmacy2 serves classic British and European food, catering for visitors to the exhibitions during the day, and evening diners when the gallery is closed.
The restaurant’s decor is strongly influenced by Hirst’s artistic aesthetic, albeit in a far more ostentatious and in-your-face manner compared to Hirst’s first foray into gastronomy.
Five blue and purple Hirst kaleidoscope butterfly pieces adorn the walls, a large medicine cabinet lines the rear wall, and there are pills everywhere. The round lozenge-themed modern bar stools add an especially nice touch.
