As promised, here is the second part of the best luxurious hotels near the famous Oxford Street.
The London EDITION is the latest from EDITION Hotels and it has it all – great design, groundbreaking innovation, outstanding dinning, and modern, friendly personal.
Located in the heart of Fitzrovia, this hotel preserves the finest aspects of an iconic landmark building and creates a dynamic fusion of old and new, past and present. We also cannot forget to mention the Berners Tavern restaurant by Michelin starred London chef Jason Atherton, as well as Lobby and Punch Room bars for bespoke specialty cocktails. This hotel is set out to astonish and seduce you with an electric energy pulsating throughout.
The SOHO Hotel is a modern, chic hotel with dramatic design and furnishings ideally positioned just off Oxford Street, near a number of popular attractions including the Royal Opera House, Piccadilly Circus, and surrounded by numerous bars and restaurants.
The first deluxe hotel in the bustling borough of London’s Soho was created on the site of a former multi-storey car park. Even though the Soho Hotel was built from scratch, it still respects the original red brick structure. When you enter the lobby, it’s hard to miss the impressive 10-foot-tall Botero sculpture in the lobby, or the mural, which adorns the hotel’s Refuel Bar & Restaurant. A true feast for the eyes and the soul.
Designed in the 1930’s by renowned British Architect, Sir Edwin Lutyens, The Bloomsbury Hotel is situated in the heart of the 18th century Bloomsbury, in the shadow of Centre Point, where the vibrant West Ends meets the burgeoning East.
This hotel presents the perfect base to explore the City for either business or leisure traveller. After the sensitive restoration, the hotel retains many of its original architectural features including the magnificent stone entrance steps and doorway and the book lined Seamus Heaney Library, named after the late Nobel Laureate, who was a regular guest. This remarkable hotel offers the best of modern British hospitality.
You probably do not know, but the hotel’s original plan was developed by CW Stephens, the architect responsible for Harrods. If that doesn’t say it all then let us just say that Claridge’s is London’s art deco jewel adored by both commons and royals. For its royal connections it is sometimes called the “annexe to Buckingham Palace“.
Designed to perfection in the 1920s, many of its original features remain impeccably in place to this day after careful restoration. Spas and special treatments are a given for those who enter this charming place. We dare you to try the newly open Claridge’s restaurant Fera with Michelin – starred chef Simon Rogan.
Last but not least, for our list we pick the Hotel Café Royal. This luxury 5 star hotel is the second member of The Set hotels, a collection created to redefine the concept of the luxury hotel for sophisticated, design literate travellers in the 21st Century.
The historic areas of hotel were sensitively restored to create this iconic London landmark. Continuing its legacy, Café Hotel offers selection of restaurant and bars that will most definitely satisfy even the most demanding customer. The experience is completed by the Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Centre with its new concept of wellbeing offering everything from amazing spas to state-of-the-art-gym and range of signature treatments. We recommend visiting the jewel of the hotel – the Oscar Wilde Bar, which celebrates the Louis XVI décor and detailing. You will not regret it!
