‘Martin Brudnizki for Drummonds’ collection preview at Decorex 2015

Drummonds’ Decorex 2015 stand has been designed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, heralding the beginning of an exciting product collaboration between the prestigious designer and this luxury bathroom brand.

Boca do LoboDrummonds was founded in 1988 by Drummond Shaw who at the time was restoring his period house and was finding it difficult to source authentic architectural antiques. Drummond used this experience to set up Drummonds Architectural Antiques and quickly established the company as the best architectural antiques dealer in the UK.

Although the business bought and sold a wide variety of architectural antiques Drummond’s main passion was always classic bathrooms. Finding nice original bathroom pieces that could be restored and used with modern plumbing systems became more and more difficult so in the late 90s Drummond took the decision to move into manufacturing.

Today Drummonds’ main business is in the manufacture and distribution of classic bathroom products. The business owns and operates 3 factories that manufacture cast iron baths, brass fitting and china sanitary ware. Drummonds’ main markets are the UK and USA with distribution growing slowly in Europe and the rest of the world.

Across the Decorex stand, three distinct areas display three different moods: Martin Brudnizki Collection: The preview set features the initial three pieces from this exciting design collaboration: The Tyburn Bath, Ladybower Vanity Basin and Derwent Wall Light. Their simple, architectural aesthetic acknowledges tradition whilst subtly extending Drummonds’ portfolio into more contemporary ergonomic forms and new materials. (See separate release.) Town House: This smart urban view of the bathroom reflects the trend for warm metals, with gleaming handmade brassware dominating the fittings and accessories.
