The spa at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park has a splendid pool, excellent for laps plus a decent number of poolside loungers. The downside is that the pool is located in a different part of the hotel with access via corridors and stairs, although I was told that there are plans underway to change that. The spa itself is a comforting oasis, using products by skin-care expert Linda Meredith.
The Corinthia
The Corinthia in London, the Maltese hotel chain’s most opulent property, has a lavish and spacious spa to match. Spread over four floors, the spa features 17 treatment rooms, a private spa suite, nail studio, indoor swimming pool, vitality pool, amphitheater sauna, ice fountain, marble heated loungers and private sleep pods. The treatments at the spa use the ESPA brand and I had an excellent bespoke massage, tailored to my preferences and needs.
The Berkeley
Unlike the other spas, The Berkeley’s spa facilities are on the top floor, offering lovely views across London. The best bit is the rooftop pool with a retractable roof that is open during fair weather. Loungers line the gleaming pool tiled in white and gold mosaics and there’s also a garden area just outside with additional places to relax.
