Welcome to the new Balthazar’s, the original Balthazar was opened in New York City by Keith McNally in the spring of 1997. The London edition in February 2013 on the corner of Russell Street and Wellington Street in the heart of Covent Garden, just down the road from The Royal Opera House. Housed in the old Theatre Museum, in a building called “The Flower Cellars”, Balthazar . This is the hardest-to-score reservation in London right now and the pinnacle, the holy of holies, the city most anticipated restaurant that results from a collaboration between New York restaurant supremo Keith McNally and his London friend, Richard Caring.
You can see a a French style in all restaurant, very cosy, the ceilings are 20 feet high, the room is pure Montparnasse, the acoustics are bliss and the bar bottles, all the way to the sky. There is a Balthazar bakery housed next door serving its own house-made artisan breads, as well as a wide selection of homemade pastries, salads and sandwiches to take away throughout the day.
The restaurant it’s open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, plus weekend brunch. From opening to closing, food will be available all day long. The French brasserie-inspired menu will include an abundance of fruits de mer as well as a wide selection of classical French brasserie and bistro dishes, a great collection of unbelievable great wines and the prices are not that scary.
Even if you are not a queen or a duchess, at Baltazar’s there is always a great staff-to-guest ratio, that will make you feel like you are a Queen.
