The Michelin Guides are famous all over the world. They are a series of annual guide books published by the French company Michelin. Lately, Michelin announced Awards list for The Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2016.
The first edition of the Michelin Guide was published more than one hundred years ago! In 19000, Michelin introduced its guide covering France, listing things and places that would be useful for drivers, such as: the location of petrol stations, mechanics and hotels. Initially it was distributed for free. Nowadays, the Michelin Guides cover not only European cities but also some of major US cities as well as Chinese and Japanese.

The Michelin’s motto is: “Michelin, a better way forward” : when you travel alone or with your family, Michelin can help you to find the best route, to enjoy your transport and especially to not miss anything of your destination!
A part of Michelin’s guides are Michelin stars that are given to the finest restaurants all around the world. Nowadays, Michelin-starred restaurants are considered the best restaurants in the world.
Recently, The Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2016 was announces with its newest roundup of London restaurants. The majority of London restaurants hold their places on this year’s list, except Gordon Ramsay’s Maze Grill and the Indian Rasoi that were deleted.
The newest Michelin Guide brought six new restaurants that are. One star received:
Lyle’s – Tea Building, 56 Shoreditch High Street
Bonham’s Restaurant – 7 Haunch of Venison Yard
Portland Restaurant – 113 Great Portland Street
The Dining Room at the Goring Hotel – Beeston Place
The newest two-star additions are both Japanese:
The Araki (that held three stars before moving from Tokyo to London in 2014) – 12 New Burlington Street, Mayfair
Kyoto-style Umu – 114–16 Bruton Place. Mayfair
The most valued three-stars restaurants: Gordon Ramsay and Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester have retained their exclusive status in the Michelin Guide.
