City Of Lodon Festival was founded in 1962 in London. This London Festival is a summer programme of music, visual arts, film, walks and talks. It takes place across several City of London venues, including St Paul’s Cathedral, and outdoor spaces, and the events and the activities are free.
This year the Festival pays homage to the former uniform of the City with a giant inflatable Bowler Hat – popping up in Paternoster Square, next to St Paul’s Cathedral – This Giant Bowler Hat seats 212 audience members and will host more than 100 events – children’s theatre, cabaret, comedy and circus.
An annual highlight of the festival is the children’s parade which this year sees 1,500 children taking to the City’s streets.
This year the Festival programme promises something to please every taste, from comedy by the hilarious Russell Kane and Katherine Ryan to classical performances by the sensational London Symphony Orchestra, from jazz by Roberto Pla and folk from Nicola Benedetti to a whole host of free family-friendly outdoor performances which taking over the City streets from 22 June – 17 July.
