The buzz in London is about to start. Get ready for the annual three-day design festival, celebrating the richness and diversity of international design and architect community. Entering its fifth year, Clerkenwell Design Week established itself as the UK’s leading independent festival. Design lovers, this is an event you cannot miss.
Clerkenwell Design Week 2014 is home to intense concentration of creative businesses and architects. That makes it one of the most important design hubs in the world. Even though it is happening only for three days, the program is packed with specially commissioned street installations, architect and design talks, new collection debuts and studio showcases, and street spectacles. One thing is for sure, you will not be bored even for a minute.
One of the highlights is the celebration of 15 years of Ron Arad’s Tom Vac chair. For this occasion, Vitra and Ron Arad are inviting leading architect and design studios to “tailor” their own Tom Vac chair. Vitra will exhibit the completed pieces throughout the festival and during the evening reception Ron Arad himself will select the winner.
The exhibitors of Clerkenwell Design Week will include over 150 international brands, interior design and architecture suppliers. The festival is in many venues around Clerkenwell and runs from May 20-22. The event is free, but you need to register online beforehand.
